This training covers the basics of Human Trafficking as it relates to: (1) Overall Background and General Information, (2) Definition of Human Trafficking, (3) Recognizing signs of Human Trafficking, (4) Reporting of Human Trafficking Incidents, (5) The A-M-P model concept, and (6) Identifying resources available to Human Trafficking survivors. ***Reminder: Upon successful completion of the courses, each licensee may only collect applicable Continuing Education credit(s) once for the Licensee’s license renewal period. In addition, CE credits should be applied once for each designated course whether purchased and completed as an individual course, or as part of the course bundle.

What you’ll learn

After this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Define human trafficking.
  2. Describe the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), as amended (22 U.S.C. §7102).
  3. Define the Action – Means – Purpose (AMP) Model, including the concepts of force, fraud, or coercion.
  4. Identify the two primary forms of trafficking – sex trafficking and labor trafficking.
  5. Recognize the pre-existing factors and vulnerabilities that lead to human trafficking incidents and victimization.
  6. Identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking, including physical health indicators and consequences.
  7. Differentiate types of traffickers, including profiles and their recruitment techniques.
  8. Identify human trafficking situation interventions that medical professionals may take in the healthcare setting.
  9. Determine methods of reporting cases of human trafficking.
  10. Distinguish particular resources that are available to human trafficking victims and survivors.
